Bike Care

When you buy an Early Rider wooden bicycle, chances are you and your child have admired-at-length their overall design and quality. So, no doubt you'll both be interested in making sure your Early Rider is taken care of so you child (and any more than come after him/her) get the full enjoyment fro Early Rider ...and learn to ride safely. 

Must Dos

1. Follow the instructions carefully to assemble the bike

2. Be gentle when first applying bolts, washer etc as per the instructions so as not to damage or bend parts 

3. Be sure to have bolts firmly attached

4. Although the pneumatic tyres come pumped, please check the tyres

5. Check the wheels are secure

6. Always supervise children who are riding Early Rider bikes.

Before Riding

1. Using the tools provided, adjust the seat height for your child before their first ride

2. Ensure they are wearing a helmet

3. Avoid taking children on open or steep roads when they have not had the chance to learn to stop with their legs.

Storage and General Care

1. Avoid leaving your Early Rider exposed to the weather 

2. Avoid leaving in rain or in wet/damp areas. Indoors is best for longevity 

3. General wear/tear such as chips or bare areas can be protected with bees wax applied to the wood 

4. Regularly inspect the Early Rider for wear and tear to keep it in tiptop condition

5. Tighten bolts as required 

6. After a wet ride out, wipe the Early Rider dry

7. Never leave your Early Rider outside in the rain or sun 

8. If used around beach or sandy areas, gently clean the sand from the axles, wheels with a wipe

9. Never leave Early Rider bikes against a fire or radiator or any other heat source 

10. Never use harsh household chemicals or cleaning sprays on your Early Rider.
